Hefty fines for Donegal and Kerry after weekend violence

Last Sunday social media was alive debating the off the ball actions of the National Football league game between Kerry and Donegal.

One particular incident was caught on camera which viewers were not happy about.

If you take a look @aidanoc1’s tweet you can see why people wouldn’t be happy about their carry on.

From this altercation, Alan Fitzgerald was handed a red card for his violence towards McGee which left the Donegal defender with a broken nose.

This morning it was announced that the CCCC (Central Competition Controls Committee) has punished the actions of both teams and Neil McGee.  Both teams involved in this squabble and many others Kerry and Donegal were awarded a €7,500 fine for their actions in Tralee. From their review of the game, the CCCC also assigned McGee a one match ban which means he misses their clash against Roscommon.

What do you make of this sanction?
