The winners of the Laois senior football will have a very quick turnaround this weekend to be crowned Laois SFC champions and in under 24 hours play the first round of the Leinster senior football championship.
After a dramatic draw in O’Moore Park last night, Portlaois and Emo have to face each other again after two goals from 42 year old former Laois player Michael Lawlor almost caused an upset for his Emo side. Today the CLG Laois Facebook confirmed that the county final will be played on Saturday evening.
The original fixture would mean that both teams in the Leinster club championship would face each other a week later from becoming county champions. The winners of the Laois SFC will face a very difficult task of a less than 8 hour turn-around to play Carlow Champions Palatine.
