Westmeath minor final cancelled due to team protest

Following reports during the week that Westmeath hurling clubs Raharney and Clonkill were refusing to tog out for both Senior and Minor finals today, It has just been confirmed that both teams have not togged out their minor teams and both teams are not present in the Westmeath county final grounds.

Raharney, the 2014 Westmeath county champions and Clonkill were forced mid-week to play their underage stars such as twins Killian and Ciaran Doyle,  Niall Mitchell and Darragh Egerton who play a huge part for their senior and minor teams. The talented players would be expected to play including warm ups play for over 170 minutes over the space of five hours. 

It has yet to break what action the county board will take to the teams protest for their player welfare.
