The Munster championship is probably the most competitive province in recent times with Kilkenny and Ulster dominating their provincial championships. Kieran Kingston’s first championship game as Cork senior hurling manager will be against All-Ireland semi-finalists and Munster champions Tipperary who will also be under new management of Michael Ryan.

Waterford who were also All-Ireland semi-finalists will take of Davy Fitz’ Clare side who were knocked out in round 2 and face a difficult task against Derek McGrath’s men.

Limerick will be hoping for a Cork upset after Tipperary overcame the The treaty county with ease in last years semi-final. (Limerick 1-16 Tipperary 4-23)
