Player Profile: Kym Furey

The Offaly ladies have reached the All-Ireland Quarter-final’s of the Intermediate championship and this weekend they will face Ulster champions Fermanagh in Mullahoran, Co Cavan at 1pm on Saturday. Offaly have had both a great league and Leinster championship campaign but they will be hoping for more silverware before 2015 is over. Key forward Kym Furey gives her player profile and hopes for this weekends game.

Kym Furey

Name: Kym Furey
Club: Edenderry
County: Offaly
Sport: Gaelic Football
Occupation: Student
Toughest opponent to mark for:
Club: Emma Dalton
County: Clara Donnelly
Role Model growing up: Cora Staunton
Aspirations for this weekend: To get over Fermanagh which will be a tough competition but doable if we play the right game. That would give us another crack at Kildare in an All Ireland Semi final!
Highlight of your GAA career so far: Would have to be winning the All Ireland in 2013 and winning the Junior Leinster championship with Edenderry back in 2010.
Low light of your GAA career so far: After winning every age grade from under 12 up it would have to be not winning anything with Edenderry since 2010
Goals for your GAA career in the next five years: To compete with the senior teams in Ireland with Offaly as a Senior team. To get back winning with Edenderry and I wouldn’t say no to an All star or two.
