It’s been over ten years since Westmeath made a Leinster football apperance in Croke Park but the Lake county footballers are causing quite a stir. Since their win over Meath two weekends ago the national papers have been covered in Maroon and white as they hope to defeat 2013 All-Ireland champions Dublin in Croke Park on Sunday.
Bookmaker Boylesports have added to the hype this week by inviting Niall Horan to their corporate box in Croke Park for the Leinster final clash. Last week the bookmaker company sent the Mullingar man a tweet and are still awaiting a reply. Horan expressed his delight after Westmeath defeated Meath for the first time ever on his twitter account.
Liam Glynn of Boyle sports said “We are still awaiting a reply for Niall via Twitter but we would like the public to get involved by using the hash tag #BringNiallToCroker on all social media platforms in order to urge the Mullingar native to come back to Croke Park to see Westmeath play,”
