IT Carlow’s Meet the players: Conor Clancy

In conjunction with IT Carlow, has joined up to report on GAA games but also to introduce supporters to the players. This week in relation to the IT Carlow’s final fitzgibbon game vs Mary Immaculate Limerick (read last weeks report vs Maynooth here: and IT Carlow vs Waterford here:) goalkeeper Conor Clancy spoke about himself.

Club: St. Rynaghs Offaly
Sport: Hurling, Gaelic Football
Biggest influence on sporting career: Parents were very supportive of me and always encouraged me to play! As a player always admired Brian Mullins
Greatest sport achievement: Can’t choose, value every medal I have!
Favourite position: Full forward but play in goals!
Toughest opponent to face:  
County: Shane Dowling
If you could invite any 3 people for dinner who would it be?: Anna Kendrick, Lee Evans & Ariana Grande
Typical Saturday Night: Going to the Brosna or Houghs (Local pub)!
Typical Student Night: Tullys or sweets & film
Advice to Young Players: Practice doesn’t make perfect! Perfect practice makes perfect!
Best thing about playing GAA in IT Carlow: Winning the league with good hurlers you wouldn’t get the chance to play with otherwise!
